Northwest Indian Veterans Association

In 1989 the Affiliated Tribes of the Northwest Indians (ATNI) formed the Northwest Indian Veteran's Association (N.I.V.A.). Several tribes throughout the Northwest formed chapters' of N.I.V.A.

N.I.V.A. chapters' were formed to serve the needs of the Indian Veteran community. One goal is to ensure access to the VA's health care system. Another is to seek out all entitlements and benefits that would serve our veterans. N.I.V.A. works to identify programs and agencies that can assist Indian veterans in improving their quality of life

Portland/Vancouver Chapter

The Portland/Vancouver Chapter is a non-profit organization consisting of veterans and veteran's families throughout the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan area.

Outreach Office

The Vancouver N.I.V.A. Outreach Office serves American Indian Veterans and their families/survivors. The office assists veterans in obtaining access to medical and other veteran's services, regardless of agency jurisdiction. The office continues to establish a network of Points of contact for various agencies to facilitate access to services.

Outreach services include locating and maintaining current information on services available through state, federal, private industry and charitable agencies for referral of veterans and their family.

Outreach is provided throughout the Northwest via the Tribal Veterans Representatives. Resources gathered in Vancouver are shared, with Representatives who provide outreach to the Veterans and their families on their reservations. The address of the N.I.V.A. Veterans Outreach office is: 1601 E. Fourth Plain Boulevard, Vancouver, Washington 98661. Located near the "Theater."

Office Hours: Tuesday -Thursday 10am to 3pm.
